O: So, things will get better next week with the blackouts.
Me: Yeah? What, they're going to stop?
O: No, they'll continue and probably increase, but at least they'll be scheduled.
Me: And this is better?
O (cheerfully): Yes, at least you'll know when they're coming and you'll be able to plan for them. It was always better when they were scheduled.
Me (confused): I guess...
So this is what life does to you in this country. You being to believe that an improvement to the damned blackouts is more, scheduled blackouts.

You really made me laugh again. This morning I woke up because of the unscheduled 7 o´clock in the morning blackout (My fan stopped working and mosquitoes attacked me immediately)between 7 and 8 o´clock the electricity went and came back four times!! Great for all my electric appliances...But I guess that in the end I´m actually looking forward to scheduled black outs as opposed to the erratic ones. I just wonder how they let us know their schedule...
I think they should post it in the newspaper, at least. Or send it with the ridiculous bill that gets higher each month there is less electricity. I actually started keeping track of the blackouts so I could keep track of my bill also--and don't you know: more blackouts meant higher bills. Go figure. Dominican math.
